The event will identify solutions to the challenges highlighted by Peru Consulting’s latest research: Retail Banking IT – Turn to Face the Change, in particular the need for speed and responsiveness in IT delivery.
According to Gartner survey data, by the end of 2017 some 64% of organisations will be using DevOps to address this challenge. But what does that mean and how can organisations adopt a DevOps culture?
The breakfast briefing will reveal how Graham Fagan, Group Head of Technology Operations for Allied Irish Banks (AIB) and Richard Burditt, Head of DevOps at Defra have embraced DevOps to achieve business advantage.
Graham will talk about how AIB has shifted focus to meet customer demand for new digital channels and the need to change working practices to develop and innovate within the supplier ecosystem. This includes changes in the management of legacy systems, the operating model and the difficulties faced in upskilling teams and the impact of this on the business.
Richard has led the DevOps transformation at Defra and will share what he’s learnt from the major challenges he has faced, including: the differing culture and working practices between delivery and operation; the need for understanding and building operational requirements early; how to design for resilience; tackling scalability and cloud deployment; and automating the “early path to live”.
In addition to the presentation and excellent full English breakfast, the briefing will also provide a forum for problem solving with peers and and networking. It will be an interesting, informative, convivial event.
