This APMG AgileDS™ course is designed to help you gain a solid understanding of the principles, processes and language used in the design, delivery and evolution of digital services within the framework of the Government Digital Service (GDS), enabling you to make an effective contribution towards successful outcomes.
The APMG’s AgileDS™ course is designed to enable you to participate effectively in Agile service delivery following the GDS framework.
It will provide a solid grounding in Agile principles, processes and ways of working, covering:
- The underpinning philosophy and principles of Agile Digital Services
- The lifecycle of an Agile Digital Services initiative
- The effective application of key Agile techniques
- The roles and responsibilities within an Agile Digital Services initiative
- Mechanisms for planning, control and governance of an Agile Digital Services initiative
At the end of the three-day course delegates can take the AgileDS™ Foundation Exam and, if successful, optionally take the AgileDS™ Practitioner Exam on the fourth day of the course.
IndigoBlue has extensive knowledge and experience of GDS. We managed the delivery of a transformational project with the Home Office and the Amberhill team in the Metropolitan Police, winning a UK IT Excellence Award — this project was cited as a best practice case study throughout 2011’s System Error report which made recommendations to Government around the use of Agile in digital services; these recommendations served as a precursor to the formulation of the GDS standards. Since then, we have guided similarly transformative projects to success at ONS, MOJ, HMCTS and the FCO.
All of our training is provided in-house at our clients’ offices by expert practitioners and – at no additional cost – we tailor our courses to the needs of our clients.
We recommend this course for:
-
People with limited Agile knowledge at all levels in the Government and wider public sectors expected to contribute to Agile service delivery following the GDS framework
-
Practising delivery managers
-
IT services suppliers with limited GDS experience who plan to bid for GDS contracts
- People working in the private sector looking for a robust standard for the design, delivery and evolution of digital services
Learning outcomes
By completing the course, you will gain an appreciation of Agile roles, responsibilities and behaviours so that you can form productive and strong working relationships with Agile delivery teams. And you will learn how to spot when things are going wrong on an Agile service delivery initiative so that you can intervene effectively and contribute to getting things back on track.
