Strategic IT Leadership

Our Agile CIO service offers your organisation technology leadership at strategic board level. We provide you with an experienced, senior IT professional to perform, on a part-time basis, the role typically carried out by a CIO (Chief Information Officer) or IT Director - it is the equivalent of having a part-time / virtual IT Director.

Ideal for organisations that cannot justify the expense of a full-time CIO or IT Director, the Agile CIO role is undertaken by one of our senior IT professionals with high-level management experience gained in blue-chip companies. It also provides access to our wider resources and knowledge pool, which embraces significant experience across a wide range of industries, technologies and business practice.

Long term, the Agile CIO provides a solution to IT development and implementation and invaluable support in IT procurement; significantly reducing the risk associated with expenditure and ensuring that technical decisions are consistent with your overall strategy.

Where the CIO is engaged following a Strategic IT Review the role remains accountable for the implementation and success of the IT strategy and associated business change. Additionally, the Agile CIO role provides the following:

  • Provide strategic IT advice to the board
  • Keep the IT strategy in line with the changing needs of the business
  • Input the latest research from IndigoBlue's consultants
  • Leverage developments from IndigoBlue's client community
  • Provide support and guidance on IT architecture
  • Focus on prioritising the right projects to deliver the business strategy
  • Deliver the IT projects through Agile IT processes, including project tracking
  • Guide the internal IT team to improve their ability to monitor projects and suppliers
  • Mentor IT staff

The level of support needed by organisations normally varies between two days a week and a few days each quarter, and decreases as the improved processes become established.

Realising the Value from Agile
