Royal College of General Practitioners

IndigoBlue has recently completed a review of the Royal College of General Practitioner's (RCGP's) Digital Strategy. The review included existing IT systems (inducing the CRM system Integra) and opportunities for collaboration and document management.

Following our standard approach, IndigoBlue met with representatives throughout RCGP at different levels of seniority in order to understand business objectives and detailed day-to-day processes.

The recommendations included: a new approach to governance for technology-based change; organisational changes to provide better customer and business focus; a new systems architecture for the integration of Integra with different online systems; and consolidation of core systems onto a single platform to improve data quality and reduce the cost of support and maintenance.

IndigoBlue has followed the strategic review with assisting with the implementation of the recommendations through the establishment of a Programme Management Office (PMO) and providing an interim head of the PMO. We have also provided procurement support for a number of replacement business systems.

I recently had a debate with Simon Annicchiarico of Appius regarding the meaning of the W in MoSCoW, and whilst it had its origins in my petty pedantry, there was an important issue to be considered.
