Overview
Not-for-profit organisations are facing ever greater pressure on resources, whilst being required to deliver improved services. Funding shortfalls, government cuts and membership pressures are leading to reduction in staff numbers and lack of investment. Existing inefficient process and organisational structures inhibit improvement, but the fear of change can prevent any changes from happening. At the same time, demand grows for a greatly increased role for the third sector in society.

- David Brown - Chief Executive IChemE will discuss the changes and challenges his organisation faced to improve relationships with members, achieve increasing growth and revenue plans whilst reducing staff numbers and operational costs.
- Stephen Cook - Editor of Third Sector Magazine will review the current trends within the not-for-profit sector, and how it is changing. He will highlight the key areas for organisations to consider going forward.
- Anthony Flack - Senior Consultant IndigoBlue will describe the main areas to consider when embarking on change programmes and delivering efficiencies and improvements.

SPEAKERS
David Brown
David has been IChemE’s Chief Executive since late 2006. He joined IChemE with a brief to develop the organisation to serve the needs of a boundary-less profession, working across geographical and disciplinary boundaries to help chemical engineers address the key challenges facing the world.
He has previously worked for ICI and the University of Warwick and was the Head of the Innovation, Research and Technology Practice for the consulting firm Arthur D. Little Ltd.
Stephen Cook
Stephen Cook has worked as a journalist for more than 30 years, first in local weekly and evening papers in Yorkshire, then as a freelance and for the BBC World Service. He spent 17 years at the Guardian, working mainly on social affairs subjects and as managing editor (news). After another period as a freelance, he became editor of Third Sector in 2004.
Anthony Flack
Anthony is a senior consultant with over 20 years experience of working with organisations undergoing a transformation, including mergers and acquisitions, divestments and core system replacement. His experience encompasses the challenges and opportunities facing changing organisations and how to utilise IT and people together to harness competitive advantage.

However, a significant proportion of organisations haven't made the necessary updates including many Government websites according to the BBC.
