Following the success of last year's conference, Harnessing the Power of the Web, this year's event promises to be even better with IndigoBlue's Managing Director Rob Smith will again be presenting a keynote session.
Rob's Keynote is entitled Harnessing the Power of Your Web Platform:
Few organisations are yet to fully unlock the massive potential of their web platform and are therefore missing significant opportunities to optimise delivery of online value. This presentation will discuss the out-of-the-box features offered by modern web content platforms to support customer centric delivery, effective indirect marketing, and emerging digital trends. Drawing on a range of practical examples Rob will discuss the positive impact this could have for your organisation’s engagement strategy, and the wider implications for your CRM.
The presentation of the MemberWise survey results at Tuesday's seminar, A Convenient Truth, provided plenty of food for thought. The report has now been sent to MemberWise members and others can download it at Survey Results. Importantly it provides a benchmark against which organisations can measure themselves, and it highlights a number of significant constraining factors that we can hopefully work together to address. More on this will follow in later blog posts.
In 2012 MemberWise, the independent professional networking group, consulted with over 3,000 membership organisations and associations to understand how the sector harnesses the power of the web to drive membership value and growth. It is the biggest survey of this type that I am aware of.
The results contained within the survey make for compelling reading. I was amazed at a number of the findings and intrigued about the wider implications. When the results are published later this month you can expect a number of blogs from me.
In the meantime, IndigoBlue is delighted to be sponsors of the report and is partnering with MemberWise to host a launch event at the RSA on 12th February. Demand for this event has been extremely high and only a few places remain.

In late 2012 the MemberWise Network consulted with over 3,000 membership and associations to understand how the membership sector harnesses the power of the web to drive membership value and growth, and its plans for the future. The results contained within this survey make for compelling reading and are both unique and statistically significant.
Sponsors of the report, IndigoBlue, and the MemberWise Network held an evening seminar dedicated to the launch of the survey report. This free event provided unique insights into current and proposed usage of the web in driving online member value. Richard Gott of MemberWise presented the report with insight provided by IndigoBlue’s Managing Director, Rob Smith.
Products and services have the potential to transform customers, to change their behaviour. Henry Ford changed his customers into drivers, IKEA has changed their customers into assemblers of furniture and Ryan Air has created passengers willing to take their own sandwiches.
These are some of the examples from a recent Harvard Business Review webinar How IT Creates Customer Value featuring Michael Schrage.
Rather than a rash of acronyms, this post looks at Bring Your Own Device strategies in the third sector.
The launch of the latest version of the iPhone (slightly larger screen, a wee bit thinner, a faster processor and slightly worse on-board maps) reminded me about the opportunities and challenges of introducing a BYOD strategy in a NFP organisation.
Yesterday I went along to CiviCon to see what the current state of play is with CiviCRM and was very impressed.
I've been tracking CiviCRM for a couple of years and wanted to assess CiviCRM against the criteria I use for assessing the readiness of open source software.
Where are the savings that IT can make for non-for-profit organisations?
This question has been prompted firstly by the recent Government Charity Report and secondly by a meeting we had recently with a consultant on behalf of a cross-sector organisation promoting the UK's digitally capability (which quotes NCVO identifying ICT as the biggest skill-gap in the charity sector).

Congratulations to the YHA, which has recently been recently been awarded a WebAward by the Web Marketing Association. The implementation of the site is the final piece of a significant business change programme aimed at providing better service to customers.
Many organisations who depend on Integra are now considering the future. Iris has launched it's new Integra NG product, which offers potentially significant improvements, but moving requries large scale changes to both technology and process as a result. There are many opportunities that can be grasped by this change and moving to Integra NG is not necessarily a natural progression. The purpose of this meeting is to discuss the advantages and disadvantages of the varying options and share experience between organisations within the sector.
