IndigoBlue is proud to announce that they are the main kit sponsor for an epic, 265 mile, 24 hour fundraising event being organised by one of it's employees, John Wright.
The LondonParis24 ride will see the 10 riders, set out from Marble Arch on the 9 July at 9pm, and they hope to be cycling along the Champs-Élysées to the finish at the Arc de Triomphe by 10pm local time on the 10 July. All riders will complete the entire distance, it is not a relay event!
The team will head off on an 80 mile first leg to Dover, the daylight will fade into darkness for a good 4 hours of night riding before arriving in Dover between 2-2:30am to get the 3:05am ferry to Calais. After about 3 hours rest the team will be back on their bikes leaving Calais at about 5:30am with 185 miles ahead of them! The journey will be broken up into 5 stages with brief rest stops every 30-40 miles before tackling the final stage into the centre of Paris, along the Champs-Élysées to the Arc de Triomphe.
The team hope to raise in excess of £10,000 for the rider's specified charities. Each rider has chosen a charity that is personal to them, this includes:
John is raising money for MacMillan Cancer Support, a charity that provides support to many suffering from cancer. Cancer is something he knows has touched every one of us in one way or another, and he's sure you will understand the support friends, families and suffers need.
The team have been training for this ride for the last 5 months, and have done over 3000 training miles each!
